Alyssa Abbey shares her top tips to boost your spiritual energy and find inner calm and balance in your life
- Take the time to think about what is truly important to you, and then decide how you will live those values. Live proactively – determine how you’ll spend your time and energy. Don’t live your whole life just reacting to the circumstances around you. Step off the treadmill and tread your own path.
- Think also about your purpose in life. It doesn’t have to be profound, and you don’t have to be Mother Theresa. Where do your talents meet your values and create the role that is just for you? Be bold and set your path toward that role.
- Count your blessings every day. You are truly a blessed, lucky person.
- Write, remember and say positive statements that will lift you every day. Use positive language to describe your life. See the opportunity in things. Focus on solutions. It does make a difference to your experience of life.
- Practice acceptance. Ask yourself whether the energy could be better spent elsewhere. Imagine how you would feel if you let go of the thing that is sapping all of your energy…
- Find your balance of work, family, friends, contribution and playtime.
- Have a hobby or hobbies. It’s uplifting and revitalising.
- Spend time with nature. There is a special energy in living things, the sea, and even hilltops.
- Music is energy! Listen to uplifting music every day. It doesn’t matter if it’s Bach or Beyoncé – whatever makes you feel good.
- If you believe in a God, talk to Him on a regular basis. Meditate and be still.
