With practice, I’m finding the exercises are starting to feel a bit more natural - and I’m getting better at controlling my muscles the way Kari Bø expects me to on the DVD.
I’ve done Pilates and yoga for years, so I thought I knew all about the pelvic floor, but these exercises take me beyond what I knew - and I’m starting to feel more in touch with, and in control of, this muscle group which was such a mystery to me before. After 6 weeks doing the exercises, I’m still not staying completely dry when I sneeze, cough or laugh, but I do notice the leaks are getting fewer, and I don’t wet myself as much when I’m out playing in the park with the kids, so I’m going to keep at it.
Kari says it takes time to get the core muscle tone back, but once you do, the improvements will follow quickly. I think the exercises are helping me to stop slouching so much - I’ve got more conscious of my posture lately - so I guess I have Kari to thank for that too!
